Okavango Photographic Safari The Okavango Delta in Botswana is a wild and wonderful place where you have the opportunity to photograph the “Big 5”. To ensure all photographic safaris are personalized, we try to limit the maximum number of persons to six, but more may be accommodated on request. Cape Photographic Company will assist you with every aspect of photography, to ensure that you return home with great looking photographs. We believe that the best way to experience this vast land is by road, and there for travel in luxury air conditioned Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 vehicles, allowing us absolute freedom in the length of time we want to spend at a particular game, bird or landscape photographic opportunity. If you are new to photography, you will be shown how to operate your camera correctly as well as all your camera’s features. View some of our pictures here of the Okavango Safari! I will show you how to take perfect wildlife photographs, and every opportunity allows for a different aspect of photography to be taught, such as depth of field, shutter speed and aperture, and composing your photographs, to name a few.If you are a seasoned photographer you would enjoy the many photographic opportunities, the company of other photographers, the sharing and idea exchanging, and most of all the willingness of everybody to get up early to get the right light for awesome photographs. In the evenings you will experience camping in the wild, and the serenity of a star-studded African sky, where we view and discuss the photographs we took during that day around the camp fire, listening to the howl of a hyena, the mighty roar of lion, or even the deep grunt of hippo, who may very well be your neighbours for the night. Our first evening after crossing the Botswana border will be spend at Khama Rhino Sanctuary, and a chance to photograph White Rhino in the wild. Here I will also show you how to get the best African sunset photograph, in preparation for all the awesome African sunsets we will be experiencing. We then travel to the Makgadikgadi Pans, photographing Baobab trees at Khubu Island and of course the world famous Baines Baobabs’ as well. After stopping at Maun for last minutes supplies, and collecting our “fly-in guests” we will spend two nights camping in Moremi Wildlife Reserve, spending the days photographing wildlife, and then travel north along the river Khwai with its abundance of game to Savuti. The Savuti plains are famous for awesome game viewing and are nestled in the south west of Chobe National Park, which is home to the most of the 120 000 elephants in the region. Lions are numerous and their pursuit of the zebra and the wildebeest migration is a sight not to be missed. Predators such as cheetah, leopard and wild dog are also regular visitors to the plains. Enjoy ‘sundowners’ next to watering holes whilst enjoying and photographing the stunning Savuti sunsets. We end this wonderful safari with a couple of evenings in the Chobe National Park, at the Chobe River Lodge. View some of our pictures here of the Okavango Safari! After a long soak in a warm bubble bath we enjoy a sunset cruise down the Chobe River to photograph the multitude of wildlife that concentrates along the river bank for an evening drink. And if you are lucky, you might even get a photograph of an elephant swimming! Accommodation can be safari camping, tented camps or in luxury lodges, for 4 to 14 days, depending on your requirement. Camping safaris are a means of experiencing the real Africa, close to the bush, and even closer to the wildlife! Contact Peter for pricing and availability
